The Third International Symposium on Fungal Stress (ISFUS 2019), will be held at the Universidade Federal de São Paulo in São José dos Campos, Brazil, between May 20-23, 2019. The symposium will cover various aspects of fungal stress that are relevant to fungal biology and the use of fungi in many industrial applications. The plenary sessions will feature renowned researchers in the areas of Industrial Mycology, Agricultural Mycology, and Medical Mycology discussing fungal stress caused by a variety of abiotic factors such as ionizing radiation, UV radiation, extremes temperatures, acidity and alkalinity, as well as environments with low nutritional status, low water activity, or polluted with toxic metals, xenobiotics, etc. Cash awards from Elsevier and Journal of Fungi will be given for the best student posters and articles. The intimate nature of the Symposium facilitates informal discussions between participants. The International Symposium on Fungal Stress is the perfect forum to present the most up to date knowledge about fungal stress and its applications in fungal biology and biotechnology.
